The leadership of medical staff and about 200 other doctors signed the petition, unanimously approved at a medical staff meeting on Tuesday August 18, 2009, stating the intention to go on sale case. Housing and community groups in the area around the hospital and Steve Radack, Harris County commissioner, also oppose the plan.
And Wolterman, president of Memorial Hermann, asked the HCHD board to provide a written response to some actions on Friday 18 September 2009. Conversely, on the day of the deadline, the country withdrew the offer to buy the hospital.
