Chicken Tikka (Urdu: ???? ???? ? ? ?), is a chicken dish originally from the Punjab region of the Indian Subcontinent; This dish is popular in India and Pakistan. This is a small piece of traditional boneless chicken baked using a skewer on a brazier called angeethi after marinating spices and forehead (yogurt) - essentially a boneless version of tandoori chicken. The word tikka means "bit" or "cut". This is also a chicken dish served in Punjabi cuisine. The Kashmiri version of the dish, however, is roasted on red charcoal, and does not always contain boneless pieces. The pieces are brushed with ghee (clarified butter) at intervals to enhance the taste, while continuing to fan. Usually eaten with green coriander and acid chutney served with onion rings and lemon, or used to prepare chicken tikka masala .
A chicken tikka is a dish where chicken tikka is served on a plate heated with onions. This dish is also popular in Afghanistan, although Afghan variants (like many Persian, Turkish and other Arabic dishes) are less spicy than those of South Asian variants and use beef and lamb in addition to chicken.
