Koklear Bone Anchored Solutions is a company based in Gothenburg, Sweden, which manufactures and distributes bone conduction hearing solutions under the Baha trademark. The company was founded in 1999 and later called Entific Medical Systems. When Cochlear bought the company in 2005, it changed its name to Cochlear Bone Anchored Solutions. The acronym "BAHA" (for hearing instrument bones anchored) is a trademark to Baha, therefore it is not considered as a hearing aid by an insurance company.

Sistem Baha
The Baha System is a bone conduction hearing system designed, developed and marketed by Koklea Bone Anchored Solutions.
It is semi-implantable under the hearing device of skin bone conduction coupled to the skull by a titanium fixture. The system transfers sound to the inner ear through the bone, thus passing problems in the outer or middle ear. Candidates with conductive sensorineural hearing loss, mixed or single-sided may therefore benefit from a bone conduction hearing solution.
They are invested in more than 100,000 people.

History
Professor Per-Ingvar Br̮' nemark discovered osseointegration in the 1950s that allowed titanium implants to fuse with human bones. This discovery led to widespread use of dental implants. In the mid-1970s, Br̮'nn nemark, along with ENT colleagues, Dr. Anders Tjellstr̮'̦m, attached an Oticon bone vibrator to a snap joint attached to a dental implant and then connected it to the audiometer. Patients reported very high and clear sounds. It is clear that the sound spreads well through the bones of the upper jaw to the inner ear. This becomes a starting point for the future development of Baha hearing aids along with titanium implants.
Since dr Anders Tjellstr̮'̦m at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, planted and installed the first patient with a Baha sound processor in 1977
