Baron Von Fancy was born in New York City and attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College in 2006. Gordon Stevenson identifies himself by his birth name because of his artwork on display in the gallery, and he uses the artistic name "Baron Von Fancy" to sign his work for commercial products. Work

Baron Von Fancy works in various media besides canvas. Billboards and public works

For the past five years, Baron Von Fancy has exhibited his artwork on billboards in the SoHo neighborhood and elsewhere in his hometown of New York. Billboards featuring cheerful and endearing expressions such as "On the way to steal your girl," "Do not call me a baby," "Never work," and "May the bridge that I burned up the street," among other things, has welcomed New Yorkers in Manhattan and its surroundings when they look to the sky at least since 2013. In May 2016, the reclamation boards featured an edgy phrase "If you feel sad, I can feel you wake up" was posted in Manhattan down at the Crossroads of the Canal and West Broadway.

Von Fancy has created a sculpture using electroluminescent wire, the ideal fresh medium for exploring color effects. Her passion for color interaction has also been manifested through a number of "water projects," in which she and her collaborators add colorful dyes to fountains, rivers, etc. for public display.

Origin of name

The artistic name evolved from his college nickname "Fancy-pants," which comes from Versace's vintage jeans collection. Baron Von Fancy is also known for its other collections which include homemade prison artifacts, pre-9/11 Twin Towers ephemera, and a peek showing the sex token.

Phrases

The typical Baron Von Fancy style is a phrase or handwritten statement in dense black letters. In some cases, letters are accented with bright colors, especially green, pink, and yellow.
